The WR SETA Bursaries For The Wholesale & Retail Sector

wr seta bursaries

The Wholesale and Retail SETA bursaries began in 2011. It addresses some of the skills shortages identified in the WRSETA Sector Skills Plan. The National Students Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) and Career Wise administer the bursaries.

The WR SETA bursaries are to address some of the skills shortages identified in the W&RSETA Sector Skills Plan.

The Scheme is aimed at providing financial assistance to needy students to study wholesale and retail qualifications.

Who Can Apply For WR SETA Bursaries?

The bursary scheme is open to learners who want to study any of the retail-related qualifications at a recognized university, University of Technology and TVET College (formerly known as FET College) in South Africa.

The WRSETA says it’s ‘sensitive to the fact that TVET colleges are strategically positioned to address skills shortages in the country and realises the importance of tapping into this skills pool in these institutions.’

The bursary scheme will assist the Sector by providing a pool of potential employees with scarce and critical skills, thus narrowing the gap between supply and demand. It will further promote and position wholesale and retail as a career of choice. W&RSETA

WR SETA bursaries are available for MBA/Masters and PhD/Doctoral students. The WR SETA bursaries only support South African citizens studying on a full-time or part-time basis who wish to pursue MBA/Masters and PhD/Doctoral studies with a focus on wholesale and retail.
